"Help! I haven't done math in 10 years." "I don't how to help my child because I was never ever good at math." "I don't know how to do this 'new' math." These are all statements that I have heard from parents at parent-teacher conferences over the years. As I tell my students, the difference between a great math student and a good math student is NOT being born great. The great student knows where and how to get help. So, parents to aid in your effort to help at home, here are some videos to help refresh your mathematical knowledge.
A great resource is www.khanacademy.org. This website has thousands of videos on math and other subjects. It also has several sets of interactive math problems that your student (or you, yourself) can work on. Check with your student to see if they have already set up an account during Differentiation Time. (You can monitor your student's progress at home if they "add" YOU as a coach. You'll need a Google or Facebook account, or you'll need to set up a new Khan Academy user name.)
Subjects are listed by unit they were presented in class.
